A VOICE YOU CAN TRUST, A FRIEND FOR YOUR JOURNEY
The mission of Horizon Radio is to broadcast sound doctrine, through teaching programs and uplifting Christian music to all people in the country of Belize.
To reach the unbeliever with the message of Salvation, and encourage the believer in Christian service, through sound biblical teaching programs, and the best of Christian Praise and Worship songs.
To be the station of choice for the best in Christian music and teaching programs in the country of Belize.
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
Horizon Radio started with Isaac Dueck’s vision for a Christian radio station that would broadcast contemporary Praise & Worship Music and solid teachings across Belize. Isaac shared this dream with the leadership of Amazing Grace Christian Fellowship. After prayer and careful consideration, they made the decision to step out in faith and begin this new venture of starting a radio station.
In December 2005, the board applied for broadcasting license, which was finally granted in 2009. Henry Thiessen and Erwin F Dueck then made the trip to the US to transport the 240 foot radio tower to Belize. They travelled to Virginia where they disassembled the steel segments and loaded them into a 25 foot school bus to haul them back to Belize. In 2010, construction of the radio tower began on the property of Amazing Grace. The founding members of the Horizon Radio board were Isaac Dueck, Jacob Penner, Jim Tucker, and Pastor Rudy Plett.
On November 5, 2010, Horizon Radio held its grand opening and began transmitting with a 500 watt transmitting Power. This transmitter is limited in its broadcasting abilities and cannot reach far beyond the Cayo District. To expand broadcasting reach, Horizon Radio purchased property in Mountain Pine Ridge (Baldy Sibun) and set up a second tower there in 2017. After some setbacks, the radio station began airing 103.5 FM on November 26, 2021 as a dual frequency station, using the new 500 watt transmitter to reach beyond the Cayo District into parts of Orange Walk, Corozal, Stann Creek, and Belize District.
